Mongolian e-Knowledge Campus (MeK)

MeK NGO is implementing the project “Mongolian e-Knowledge” eLearning campus jointly with Mongolia Development Gateway, InWent from Germany and other partner organizations.

Activities of Mongolian e-Knowledge Campus

MeK Campus offers various capacity building courses in mongolian language to local individuals and organizations by using the latest e-Learning tools of Information and Communication Technology. The product package of the MeK includes a number of eLearning services and offers created on the needs and demands of its customers, partners and eLearning market. These are:

  • Management skills courses including Knowledge management, Competence in decision making etc.
  • eSkills courses which will prepare e-Tutors, Content developers, Instructional designers, Technology developers and eLearning Project managers
  • Development of eLearning platform
  • eLearning content development for clients by using their content
  • eLearning course development for clients by their order etc.

eLearners of the MeK are individuals and organizations from Ulaanbaatar and rural aimags who  interested and needed  to learn online.


Completed activities of MeK(as of April 2007)

 
Organized meetings with individuals and organizations interested in implementing eLearning in Mongolia, identified potential partners.
 
Signed Memorandum of Cooperation with potentail partners
 
Established the Mongolian e-Knowledge NGO responsible for implementation of MeK Campus
 
Team members of MeK Campus are attending the blended learning course “eLearning Development and Implementation”,  as well as “eSkills” online courses provided by the InWEnt Germany

Open-sourced Learning Management Systems (A Tutor, KEWL, Moodle, OLAT, SAKAI), and Content Management Systems (Drupal, Joomla/Mambo, Typo3) were assessed regarding the MeK Campus needs. The Moodle LMS was chosen for the Campus
 
Created the Mongolian e-Knowledge Campus at www.mongolcampus.org. Prepared and uploaded demo courses for the public and organizations
 
Held the Institutional Opening Launch of Mongolian e-Knowledge Campus
