The Mongolia – Australian Scholarship Program offers 28 scholarships to eligible potential scholars |
|
 MASP is an Australian Government, AusAID initiative, in cooperation with the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of Mongolia. MASP is a scholarship program developed to allow up to 28 eligible potential scholars to undertake Master’s degree studies at a selected Australian university commencing in either January or July 2012. The scholarships are for study and include a living allowance. Interested applicants must apply in one of two categories for the program: Category 1 – Targeted Institutions Individuals from target ministries and their associated agencies are able to apply for scholarships. A total of 21 scholarships are available for Category 1. For a full list of these selected agencies please refer to the MASP website (www.masp.mn) or contact the MASP office. | Category 2 – Targeted Fields of Study Individuals from the private sector, universities, and NGOs are invited to apply for scholarships in the targeted fields of study. A total of 7 scholarships are available for Category 2. For a list of selected fields of study please refer to the MASP website (www.masp.mn) or contact the MASP office. |
Individuals must meet eligibility criteria listed on the MASP website (www.masp.mn). A briefing session for Category 1 will take place at the Circle Auditorium of the National University of Mongolia on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 10:00 am. A briefing session for Category 2 will be held at the Circle Auditorium of the National University of Mongolia on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 10:00 am. Applications close at 5:30 pm on Wednesday 18th August 2010. Applications for Category 1 must be lodged with the Head of the PAMD of their ministries. Applications for Category 2 must be lodged with the MASP Office.

Summer Lecture of Mongolian Professionals working Abroad organized |

 The Mongolian e-Knowledge NGO organized the Summer Lecture-2010 of Mongolian professionals working abroad on July 23, 2010 in Ulaanbaatar successfully. The lecture was conducted under the auspices of President Ts. Elbegdorj, and by the initiative of the Mongolian-American Chamber of Commerce. Two hundred fifty people attended a full day lecture of Mongolian professionals who gained higher education in western countries and now work there successfully. Five lectors presented eight lectures namely: - “Trends of Online Education”, “Media and Journalism” by Dr. Ya.Borchuluun from University of Missouri – School of Information Science and Learning Technology,
- “Computer Science: Natural Computing”, "Informational Society: Knowledge Economy" by Dr. I.Tseren-Onolt from the Abo Academy of Finland,
- “Linguistics in Information Technology”, “Ideology & Frame of Western Educational System” by Dr. M.Saruul-Erdene, specialist at the Library of Congress and a linguist,
- “Practical Use of Information Technology & How Information Technology Products Originate” by L.Bat-Ulzii, senior test lead from Microsoft,
- “Business and Communication Ethics” by E.Jagdagdorj, IBM specialist of Simco Incorporated and President of the Mongolian American Chamber of Commerce.
Eight lectures were followed by “Question and Answer” sessions. The audience was made up of university teachers, IT professionals, and business representatives. During the lecture the President of Mongolia conferred awards on those who have raised Mongolia's prestige abroad on the occasion of the 804th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire and the 89th anniversary of the People's Revolution. The “North Star” order went to Dr. Baatar Shirchin, a Senior adviser of All State Insurance Corporation in USA, and a Medal of Honor was presented to Dr. Saruul-Erdene, specialist at the Library of Congress. Advisor to the President A.Ganbaatar spoke about the President's policy aimed at the foreign-based Mongolians. “He has reflected in his action plan his support for all those who have bright ideas of developing Mongolia,” he said. Ms.Tsetseg-Ulzii from Mongolian e-Knowledge (MeK) presented on the eLearning activities of MeK in Mongolia. On behalf of the audience, and as the main organizer, she thanked the supporters and sponsors of the lecture: Office of the President of Mongolia, National Information Technology Park, Communications Regulatory Commission, and business companies including Tavan Bogd group, Unitel, Petrovis, USI, Misco, My Soft and all media organizations. Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Organized under the auspices of Mongolia's President, the “Mongolian Professionals Abroad - Summer Lecture 2010” was held in Ulaanbaatar on July 23, 2010, Friday. The one-day lecture and training session was organized by the Mongolian e-Knowledge NGO and the Mongolian American Chamber of Commerce in USA. Five Mongolian professionals presented eight lectures. Dr. Borchuluun Yadamsuren, researcher of the University of Missouri USA presented two lectures: “Trends of Online Education” and “Media and Journalism.” Dr. Tseren-Onolt Ishdorj of Abo Akademi University in Finland gave two lectures: “Computer Science Research: Natural Computing” and "Informational Society: Knowledge Economy". Dr. Saruul-Erdene Myagmar, library specialist of the Library of Congress, USA presented two lectures: “Linguistic issues arising with information technology” and “Ideology & Frame of Western Educational System”. Mr. Bat-Ulzii Luvsanbat, senior test lead from Microsoft and Mr. Jagdagdorj Erkhembayar, IBM specialist from the Simco Inc, USA presented on IT and business issues. The lecture aimed to support the development of Mongolia through knowledge transfer from skilled Mongolians who have gained higher education and are working abroad, and to encourage them to target their skills towards the initiatives of the Mongolian President. During the lecture the President presented awards to those who have raised Mongolia's prestige abroad on the occasion of the 804th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire and the 89th anniversary of the People's Revolution. Under the auspices of President Ts. Elbegdorj, Mongolian Professionals Abroad Summer Lecture was held successfully on July 23th 2010 in Ulaanbaatar. By organizing the Lecture, the President of Mongolia showed his support for the highly educated Mongolian professionals working abroad for the development their country. The topic of the event, being held for the first time in Ulaanbaatar, was focused on IT, and contributed to the idea of developing a knowledge-based Mongolia. |
